- Upper GI Gastroscopy- This is an investigation (using an endoscope) of the upper gastro-intestinal tract (i.e., oesophagus, stomach, and duodenum) to determine the existence of ulcers, Barret's oesophagus and other problems.
- Colonoscopy - This is an investigation (using an endoscope) of the lower gastro-intestinal tract (i.e., Colon and rectum) to determine if there are pre-cancerous polyps, cancer, or inflammatory bowel disease.
- Flexible Sigmoidoscopy- This is a limited endoscopic investigation of the lower colon and rectum.
- Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)- ERCP is a procedure to diagnose possible disorders of the pancreas and bile duct system using a duodenoscope.
- Video Capsule Endoscopy - some parts of the small intestines cannot be viewed through a regular endoscope, but can be viewed through this new technique involving capsule endoscopy.
